Album's O' The Year

Posted by Timo |

1.
Scissor Sisters Ta-Dah. Sophmore effort from the sisters sees a more polished 70's pop radio feel. it's mostly incredible. Live, this material is spellbinding. Stand outs: Kiss You Off, I Can't Decide, The Other Side, Making Ladies.

2. Pet Shop Boys Fundamental. Return to electronic form boast gorgeous arrangements and provoking lyrics. an excellent stage show for the Fundamental tour as well. Thanks for finally coming to Seattle, Boys. Stand Outs: Minimal, I Made My Excuses And Left, psychological, Fugitive, In Private, Integral.

3. Goldfrapp Supernature. 3rd offering for the luscious Goldfrapp. A more mainstream pop approach but utterly gorgeous. Also, probably the finest live show I have ever seen. Stand outs: Lovely 2 CU, Ride A White Horse, Time Out For the World, Beautiful.

4. The Knife Silent Shout. Quirky Bjork-esque electronic melodies from Swedish Brother and Sister duo. Stand Outs: Marble House, Silent Shout, The Captain, One Hit.

5. Pink I'm Not Dead. Pink has had a buttload of great singles and she's always had excellent remixes, but this is the first time I've really enjoyed an entire album, and unremixed at that. Punky pop rock with a fuck you attitude. Stand outs: U + yer hand, Who Knew, Stupid Girls, Cuz I Can, Dear Mr President.

Out Of No Where?
6. Olivia Newton-John Grace & Gratitude. I have always loved 'Liv and had heard about this cd. I randomly picked this up last week for my Mother. It immediately grabbed me. a little new-agey, but serene and calm. Very soothing. Stand Outs: We Are Pearls, Grace and Gratitude, I Will Life Up My Eyes, Let Go Let God, Power Of Now.

The Dexter Holiday Gathering

Posted by Timo |

Went out wednesday night wth the Dexter posse to Chez Gaudy in FCapitol hill. It's a nice place. sort of Italian, sort of French. Cali, Kyle, Markia, Rachel and (not pictured) Autumn. Service was a little lengthy...but I have to get used to the whole "good food take time" thing.

I will defintily go there again.

"Only Jesus Saves.
"Saves" from what?
The anger of God over your lies, stealing, fornication...
Why should you care?
All liars, sexually immoral, thieves will have their place in the lake of fire...
Why?
Because God is Holy and Just.
What???
You lie to me, no big deal
You lie to your parents, you'd get punished (Mom's can do that no matter how old you are)
You lie to a cop, you get jail or a heavy fine
You lie to Congress, it's called treason
but you lie to God and you get Hell.
It's not the lie, it's who you did it to.
And God says ALL liars will have their place in the Lake of fire.
See how "good" God sees you really:

UPDATE ME

Posted by Timo |

Been a bizzy fucking Bee lately. WORK AND WORK.

Last week saw 2 concerts with Tommy.
The Deck The Hall Ball featuring a bunch of bands. we caught Gnarls Barkley, taking back sunday and my chemical romance.
Gnarls barkley were suprisingly good. Taking back sunday is the worst band ever. Well, we thought that until we sat thru my chemical romance, who are INDEED the worst band ever. But the stupid Emo kids loved them, and we felt old and left.

Worked like mad all week, except for friday when a million people in the seattle area lost their power. The mall didn't have power all day so i didn't havre to work. and traffic light were toast so getting to ameriprise took 1.5 hours.

whatever. some people still don't have power.

FLying to MN in the morning to visit family and friends.

I'll probably be blogging from there.

Enjoy your Holidays !

BLONDE. JAMES BLONDE

Posted by Timo |

I really enjoyed the new Bond film. It is far darker than the fluffy gadget heavy camp of the last 20 years. I didn't care for Dalton or Brosnan.

Daniel Craig is an interesting choice. I think he did a great job.

the plot is a bit all over the place and 2.5 hours is too long for my ass in a theater seat, but I really enjoyed it.

Interestingly, there's a hilarious amount of lingering shots of the new Bond's Hot body.

NO SPICE REUNION

Posted by Timo |

"Geri Halliwell has announced her retirement from the music business and put the dampers on a Spice Girls revival.

In an interview with Britain's OK! magazine, Halliwell said she had no musical ambitions and no desire to record another solo album.

She said: "As far as music is concerned, I feel like I've given it my best. When I see how desperate people are for that chance, I realize I've had my turn and now I have to let it go."

Halliwell also revealed that the Spice Girls would have reunited for last year's Live 8 charity concert, but that former bandmate Mel B pulled out. "We were all ready, apart from Mel B," she said.

It is now doubtful whether a reunion will ever happen, she added. "Victoria [Beckham, aka Posh Spice] said maybe it's time to move on and I think she's got a point," she said. "Maybe it's better to keep the Spice Girls as a memory, but never say never. A taxi driver said to me we could still do a reunion even if one of us didn't want to."

from Dotmusic

I am not terribly concerned with a Spice Girls reunion, but I do enjoy geri's cheese pop immensely. Oh Well.

that Bitch Kyle will be pleased.

he looked at me like I was retarded. which I am, of course.

Slimey and gross and really bloody.

There's a scene with a zombie dear attckign the main guy. it's a little hilarious.

THE RETURN OF PARALYZED MAN

Posted by Timo |

I had an another exciting paralyzation last night/this morning at about 5:30am. I realize it hasn't happened in a year and a half but it really sucked. Kyle and MArika came over and helped and the mega potassium pills worked after about an hour but i ended up mising work. and this shit can't still be going on. i called my doctor and ripped him a new asshole.

I had heard of a hyper-thyroid specialist in portland. Mybe his opinion would be worth the trip?

it's all very frustrating more than anything.
I don't know what to do.

MINI-VACATION

Posted by Timo |

last thursday my company took all of the staff to Quinalt beach resort on the coast of washington for a retreat. it was cold and dreary but fun. stayed another night at a house Louisa rents and that was fun. tried to stop at the Star Wars shop, but it was closed. I'm sure everything would have been crazy expensive, anyway.
