Time To Break Out My "Muriel's wedding" dvd

Posted by Timo |

Steve and I booked our little trip to Sydney in May.
Found a quite tasty Flight & Hotel combo and we booked it. Also, Steve managed to snag excellent seats at the KYLIE concert on the 30th at the Sydney Entertainment Center.

It's all very Scary and exciting. I've never been anywhere. Seriously. Not looking forward to 14 hours on a plane from LA to Sydney but I know it will be a life changing experience - Ok, I HOPE.

this weekend was pretty much a bust. Went out saturday night and saw a lot of old faces, met some new ones - but at every time I was having fun UM decided we had to go. No matter where we were he HAD to be in charge. There was QUITE a shouting match and I haven't spoke to him since saturday night.

OH - so on Thursday night at Manray I lost my Siouxsie money clip. On saturday night, Tommy ( manray owner ) tells me that his friend found it and gave it to Jake Shears of the Scissor Sisters, who said he was going to give it to Ana Matronik because she's a huge Siouxsie fan. SO - I'm annoyed that I lost my money clip as I got it off ebay ages ago and it's mostly unreplaceable. But it's cute that someone from one of my favoritre bands now has it and I have this annecdote to tell.

Thank God it's Friday

Posted by Timo |

Yippeee, friday.

Wednesday went with Harriett Pottress to the Baltic room to watch 2 of the Scissor Sisters dj. Well, they might as well not have even been there as all they did was stand by the dj and wiggle a little bit - just had a lot of fun with Harriett, Tommy and Tommy's pals. Met this cool guy named Kyle that I actually met months ago after the Siouxsie concert. Seriously hung over Thursday morning, luckily I had arranged to come in late Thurs and Friday.

Thursday I actually got an annual review with my boss. I got a G2 rating with means I Rule. I'm pleased with the rating and the nice little bonus and raise that came with it.

Thursday night, went and saw the sacissor sisters at the paramount with Consuelo & Harriett. It was a great show, they are really tight and polished. Consuelo, in her infinite shortness, could barely see. I'm borrowing her my dvd. Kyle was there again and we chatted a bit, Stood with consuelo and harriett for most of the show and then went back and watched from a distance with Tommy. I think I'd rather be further away, you can see more and you don't have to deal with the pushing assholes and the packs of idiotic girls shoving their way to the front - that has happened at every show I've ever been to.

Anyway, took Harriett & Consuelo home and then picked up UM and went to manray for a cocktail. it was packed like a sardine can ( on a thursday night ?) and again hung out with Tommy and Kyle. I have this overpowering urge to call him kylie.

So - I got to meet the singer from Scissor Sisters. he came to manray after the show. He's very short, but much cuter in person. he was a little bithy to some people that wanted pics but my friend started talking to him and he was really friendly to me. It was a cute minor celebrity experience. if you remember the Kristine W experience, I must say that this one was much more pleasant. Or the time I met Siouxsie and couldn't even talk. Great.

Nothing planned tonight. Must clean my room. Seriously.

Oscar Oscar Oscar Get Your Boredom Here

Posted by Timo |

I don't think I've ever NOT cared so much about any of the films nominated for the Oscars.

I have only seen a handful and have absolutley ZERO desire to see any of the others. Ok, actually I do want to see "Kinsey" and "Vera Drake", but not enough to haul my arse to the theater. I might enjoy sitting through the "Phatom of the Opera" just to revel in the gaudiness. And maybe "Closer", cuz I like Clive Owen.

Honestly, with my attention span, I'll probably never see any of them.

"Million dollar baby"? Are you Fucking kidding me? I can't fathom PAYING to watch Clint Eastwood - that's more like a prison sentence than entertainment. Seriously, It looks less interesting than watching paint dry. Of course, if I was a frisky heterosexual man, I might get a kick out of watching sweaty girls beat the shit out of each other.

Hmmm - maybe that's what all the hubub is about?

a little bit of this

Posted by Timo |

a three day weekend but nothing to report, really.

worked saturday, but woke up really early. UM had literally just got home at 7:30 AM and I decided to be the nice roommate and not make any noise. SO I farted around for a while but ended up going into AEFA. worked noon to 6 and the weather was weird so it was dead and we were bored to tears. off at 6 and then went back to AEFA until around 8 until UM called and said "let's go play". Must make mental note to not set foot in AEFA for 6 hours on saturdays without getting paid!

Went out with UM and it was all good times except there was some drama but there's always drama so why even mention it? a little head-achey the next day.

Sunday had Lunch with steve-o at La Coccina aka "THE COCK" and then shopped along broadway. I bought the ultimate piece of shit Madonna classic "Body of evidence" and Steve bought Schoolhouse Rock on dvd. Went back to my place and watched all our old schoolhouse rock favorites "Lolly, Lolly, Lolly - get your adverbs here!", "conjunction junction, what's your function", "interplanet Janet, she's a galaxy girl!" and drank some wine.

Was suppossed to go down to the market with Consuelo, but she pulled some sort of disappearing act. Then steve left right as the Sci-Fi channel's remake of "battlestar Galactica" began - and then i was sucked into that for SIX HOURS! a four hour mini series and a two hour episode - and if you know me at all - you know that I rarely watch actual tv. I hate commercials! Then I did nothing for the rest of the evening even though i had monday off.

then Monday Harriett Pottress and I went to Olive garden for Lunch and then we wandered around broadway AGAIN and then went to half priced books and records where i bought a whole bunch of shit from the $1 bin. Those amazing finds include:
- technotronic: the remix album ( 1990 disco trash! )
- the grind dance club erobics video ( with Eric Nies ! )
- the grind fat burning grooves video ( with Eric Nies! )
- stephen King "graveyard shift" because it has an old favorite story of mine "the mist"

then went home and hung out with UM and drank 3 bottles of wine and watched crazy old home videos. I shouldn't drink white wine ( white zin ) as it gives me terrible heart burn. Fascinating.

tuesday : work, home at 8pm. did nothing.
wednesday: work. traffic sucked this AM, 55 minutes to get to work. Suppossed to mall tonight but swapped for tomorrow night. just not in the mood. UM is off tomorrow so he is probably sauced by now. I hope so, he's easier to get along with when he's tipsy.

At Long last....Friday!

Posted by Timo |

it's been a long week.
It's been crazy cold. Especially this morning.
I've been really unmotivated all week, just kind of cranky and irritable.

Last night I went out for pizza with Harriet Pottress and we discussed how there's nothing but bad service in Seattle and you just have to expect it and accept it. This is something Consuelo really needs to work on.

Then I met UM at Everyday music where he was looking thru all the stacks of used vinly. Eddie wasn't working cuz he has the flu. I found an old Rupaul "little drummer boy" on red 12" vinyl. Hideously bad and dated but it was Mint and $2.60! Besides, we all need More Christmas dance mixes!

Then UM and I went to Manray for a few gin & tonics ( out on a weeknight? ) and it was fun-ish. UM's old housemate "Lady" showed up and they got drunk.
A couple of my favorite eye-candy-boys ever ( Andrew & Zane ) were there, so that was nice and Mark was playing all the videos I usually request. Tommy & I discussed upcoming Scissor Sisters events.

Also, ran into this guy I've been on a few dates with and realized that he had totally lied to me about what he was doing last night and he was out on another date. He acted like he was totally busted. I don't care what he was doing but don't lie to me, ok?

Annoying - but what did you expect? Welcome to my life.

I was home and in bed by 11:00, a little irritated. Slept pretty well, except that FAT ASS TanQ must have been cold and wanted to lay right on my head.

An exciting life, I KNOW.

3 day weekend, mall 12-6 tomorrow. Not excited about it.

Today Is The Day

Today I Think everyone is on drugs. Smack Crack Dope Whatever.

And I think drugs are bad...or at least a total waste of money.

I still have a lovely headache...it has faded into the background but it's still there and getting worse as the day drags on.

Scary tornado looking skyline over bellevue today.
Malling tonight.
I hope the mall doesn't get sucked up up up and away.

ehhhh.

I Am Streched On My Grave

Posted by Timo |

Another sleepless night staring at the alarm clock.
Pounding Pounding Pounding Headache. Is it Really a migraine?
wrestled with going to work or not and decided against ( it's a slow period )
Called in at 7:30. At 8 on the dot a truck pulled up full of little worker men who then prodeced to chop down the huge tree not 20 feet from my bedroom window.

it's 12:28 and they are finally finishing up. The lovely sound of Buzzing saws is all I've heard all morning. Needless to say - NO SLEEP. I've been up for 29 hours and man are my wings tired.

I should have just gone to work.

I'm Not In The Mood For Barnacles

Posted by Timo |

Shock of all shocks, I was in and out of the dentist's office in a mere 15 minutes. No problems or issues.

Jeni calls from Rplace @7 and I go down to have a drink with her and her friends. Let me say that I HATE Rplace ( Theirplace ) as far as bars go. Rplace plays nothing but rap music and that is just WRONG. WRONG!

Anyway, home by 9:30 and have to keep it down because UM works at 5am on wednesdays, so I just go to bed. Wake up at 1:30 with a pounding headache, which keeps me up the rest of the night.

I'm thinking I must be a terrible person and whatever higher power out there has decided that I no longer deserve sleep. Amen.

There Is No Smoking In The Theater

Posted by Timo |

Ultimate Mess continues to smoke in the house even though i have asked him repeatedly not to. And even though he agreed BEFORE moving in that he would not smoke in the house.
He is having some sort of belligerant asshole attitude and it's going to be the death of him.

No offense to anyone that smokes, but I don't want my house smelling like smoke. it's that simple. Even Joyce would smoke outside. ALWAYS. if UM smokes a single smoke in the kitchen, I smell it all over the house.

NYE was fine, nothing to write home about. Just went out to the ugly bars but ran into some fun people and had a pretty good time. Best moment of the evening was Sarah falling flat on her ass in taco bell.

Had a nice pork roast dinner with steve and pat new years day ( thanks pat! ) and another new years dinner on sunday at claim jumper ( Thanks steve! )

Performed minor mutant claw removal surgery on tanQ.

didn't get a wink of sleep sunday night - might have been the stress inducing 2 hour phone call with steve right before bed....OR the 8 glasses of iced tea I had mid afternoon. Also, might have been the weird horror flick I watched called "leeches" about giant leeches wreaking havok on a college campus. Terrible movie - but in a good way. Every time I heard a noise or TanQ jumped on the bed I pictured a giant leech coming to get me.

Monday back to the grind.....kinda nice to be back to work as i don't really know what to do with free time besides spend money. was another dumb day. everyone was sick or whining about something.

Monday night finally watched this dvd I bought back in minnesota "phantom of the paradise" - a late 70's "rock opera" which was kind of "Phantom of the opera meets Grease On Crack". It was terrible in the actual sense of the word. I only kept watching it because I wanted to believe that the 5.99 I wasted on it had some redeeming scene or moment. NONE. And one of the main characters was played by ultra creepshow 70's "Actor" and "singer", Paul Williams. he was the scariest thing about the movie.

Tuesday, took down Xmas decorations at work. Dental Appointment at 3. the worst thing about dentist appointments and doctor appointments is all the waiting. I'll get there at 3 but won't see the Dr until after 4. it's frustrating, but if you aren't on time you have to rescedule.
