there was a party a couple of weeks ago where they recreated the all the bars from infamous 500 block of Pine : they actually got stuff that sued to be in the bars and set them all up in a parking lot. Of course, we just hung out at manray. It was pretty cool although it was kinda sponsored through Havanna which is a ridiculouly lame bar here. They played nothing but awful butt rock until midnight when someone most of told the idiot that none of that shit would have ever been played on that block of mostly gay bars. in the pics [ by Doug! } you will find Me, tommy, jeffie and Bree. it was a good time and really fun to revisit those places.
and yes, I do look skinny. I've lost 20 pounds since july 4th. thanks for noticing.

you may be surprised but I absolutely fucking LOVED it! Sure, the story was pretty messed up but the effects and the action was a blast - and somehow, even though they screwed up the accent and the history, Sienna Miller was awesome as the Baroness and easily the best part of the movie. there were a lot of non-sensical liberties { ok, actually there were some GIGANTIC stretches of the imagination } and a lot of the huge stuff was saved for the last few minutes - Obviously there will be a sequel. of course, it got terrible reviews just like the new transformers movie. all it is is an action movie so what do people expect? "I'd like some cathartic revelations and some Carl Jung-ian exposition along with my action films." Ok, don't hold your breathe for that. I Loved it. like LOVED it. really.
a slew of posts coming and going over the last 6 weeks. I would randomly delete them as I was dealing with a great deal of anger and hurt. I will stop doing that now.
carry on.
Explain to me, Andre, how you can hate Lady GaGa yet love Britney Spears? isn't that a lot like getting an abortion and then still loving your dead fetus?
I say yes. except that your aborted fetus is vastly more talented than Britney Spears.
So, I've been pretty sidelined by something shitty. I'll be back when I'm feeling better.
You know I'm a purist. It takes ages for me to get into new music. I'm a music snob with a fine appreciation for cheese and I'm very dismissive. and I can admit these things.
La Roux "Bulletproof" - love the music, she's a lil' bit Robyn-ish.
Frankmusik "Confusion Girl" - I love him. the remixes are better but I like this video. (he did a nice remix for PSB on "love etc")
The Juan Maclean "One Day" - A little bit Human League - I love the music and the dual voices.
Hopefully, Some of these will be on August Satchel. So there.
hello. I did indeed survive my awesome birthday. Pics soon. Please excuse me, I'm a tad busy.

honestly, I thought his music was pretty wretched (except for the song & video of "Thriller") but I actually felt bad for him as he plummeted further and further into freakishness. I think this is what being a celebrity does to some people. I can't imagine living under that kind of scrutiny and judgement every time you fuck up ( as most humans tend to do ). I hope his children aren't messed up for the rest of their lives by that same celebrity bullshit. Rest in peace, MJ.

Rest in peace, Farrah. You were always my favorite Angel : Cheryl Ladd, Shelley Hack and Tanya Roberts were ridiculously pale in comparison. I will watch my VHS copy of "the Burning Bed" in your honor. ( and you know I totally have that doll )
I remmeber my brother had this poster on his bedroom wall in the 70's of her and you could totally see her nipples through her bathing suit and I recall thinking "ooo, she has fabulous hair" so I guess I knew way back then. Cheers to you, Farrah.

I know you are all waiting for me to pass judgement on her, so...
a friend said the other day that he must be the only one that doesn't understand how Lady GaGa got to radio. well, compared to most of the Shite that comprises of American top 40 I must admit she's pretty good. American radio is nothing but (c)rap, Jonas brothers, identical guitar bands and unspeakable shit like Britney and pariah.
So, Based on the excellent remixes I had heard of her first few singles I bought her album. Yack!!! the lyrics are fun and she has a decent voice but most of the production is generic radio flavored hip hop.
So I will stick with the remixes. Dave Aude does a batch of them (and he Rules!) as well as harry "choo choo" romero, moto blanco, robots to mars and a couple of guys called pet shop boys.
I must say that I have seen interviews with her and she seems interesting. She's kinda ridiculous and unusual looking and I dig that stupid people think she's a man. Also, she worships Andy Warhol & grace Jones so I have to give her credit for that.
the best song off of Hard Candy finally gets a video - though it's just clips from the hard candy tour. still fun, though.
headed to Tinkham for our first camping trip of 2009 a couple weekends ago with tommy, bree & ollie, darcy and clair. It was nice and low key. we had a great big private spot right next to the river. Not much happened really. we just ate & drank drank a lot and a creepy deliverance kinda guy came over and weirded us out on saturday night. sorry the pics are so dark - there's not a great deal of light out in those woods! ( and yes, that is a barbie wearing a kools pack in the fire.)
01 Bree is the fire starter
02 dry music is important
