Deichkind "Luftbahn" - Really cool German song with a ridiculous video chocked full of muscly Elf looking models that take their shirts off, paint each other, dance in doorways and have a tug of war for good measure....and if that weren't enough, it gets really strange during the last 25 seconds or so. I love it. "Deichkind = Dike Child?"
Private is a Danish band with a severe 80's sensibility and a sick sense of humour...actually, they look pretty Goth which is hilarious when you hear most of the music... Actually, They remind me of Army of Lovers ( whom I adore ). My friend Milty just said they sound like nails on a chalkboard, but what does that bitch know? (I kid! ). so....If you enjoy Repetitive, 80's synthy Euro-cheese, with artsy/tacky/ridiculous videos ....then you will enjoy.
KILLER ON THE DANCEFLOOR ( randomly impaled girls! Slashed throats! yes ! )
CRUCIFY MY HEART ( see - out of nowhere fierce black diva at 1:39 )
SECRET LOVER ( check the awesomely ridiculous rap at 1:12 )
WE GOT SOME BREAKING UP TO DO ( cheapest video of all time? nice clown car! )
@ :16 seconds - been stuck in my head for a couple days now.
Great video - haven't decided if I love or hate the single, though...
One of my favorite bands of all time is The Cramps! - their front man front man Lux Interior died on Feb. 4 of heart failure. He was 62. Their music was an interesting mix of sex, death, punk and rockabilly. They might look a little goth - but they really weren't - Goth's don't have a sense of humour like the cramps!
Interior and his fabulous guitarist Poison Ivy Rorschach were happily married for 37 years.
Rest in peace, Lux!

After 25 years in the music industry, British group the Pet Shop Boys were honored with the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award at the February 18th BRIT Awards.
Below is a the 10 minute medley they performed. They are joined by Lady Gaga and Brandon Flowers of the Killers. it's rather fun but I think something was up with their guest's mics.

the friday the 13th remake:
maybe I'm softening in my old age but I really liked it.
I liked that jason moves quickly and that he wasn't some lumbering overstuffed zombie. I like that the cast you think you are stuck with for the entire movie is killed off before the credits even roll. I like that the actress playing Mrs Vorhees only got a minute of screen time instead of having her embarrass herself trying to fill Betsy palmer's sweater...err, shoes. I like that there was some hot man-flesh to go along with all the fake titties. I even like the ridiculously obvious suprise ending because at the end of the day, even if it is a michael bay cash-in, it's still a fiday the 13th movie and somethings are not debatable.

charlie's annual post holiday party - they closed the bar and everyone that worked there invited their closest pals - it was a lot of good people ( and a couple stinkers ) - but mostly it was a big drunken mess, but a marvelous time was had by all. and yes - that's Jeff & I singing "I got you babe". it was cute, I think. Ok, I don't really remember that part of the evening...and there was an even messier after party at doug's house - which I don't recall at all except for flipping out about my missing camera which was shortly thereafter found in my back pocket. the best part of the whole evening though was the drunk stumble home to Jeff's which was all of 2 blocks.

Dragged Jeff to Ocean shores last weekend for Weez's birthday. the Family also dragged all their Significant others: Jeni & Michael, Weez & Michael and Heidi & Joe. Weez rented a great big comfy house and we sat around and ate and drank. a lot. these pics are obviously the proof. there was shopping and a group trek to the beach. and kite flying. and cake and amazing breakfast and dinners. and weeping to that damn sigourney weaver lifetime movie! and hot tubing and odd deer sightings in the front yard. honestly, jeff and I were in the hot tub saturday night but I couldn't even enjoy it because I was sure the three mask killers from "the starngers" were going to come walking around the corner at any moment. and I won't even go into the "getting the lube off the wooden bed frame before it stains" adventure. a marvelous time had by all, I believe.
lots to post but my internet is toast. this is what you get when you get it free, eh?
I'll be back soon. cheers, mate.

Understand that if you remake one of my favorite horror movies ever then I am going to be a skeptic. it actually took me most of the day to decide if I liked this movie or not. the verdict? LOVED! it's so much fun that the glaring pot holes in the story are trifle! I actually jumped several times so there were some good scares. and Gory. oh my god Gory! how do you rip someone in half with a pick axe? you must see this in 3D. the scene where the guys jaw gets ripped off and flies at the screen is worth the price alone. So yeah - there's a pretty big cheat and the ending is not only wrong but plain silly...but So Much Fun!

spent the 1st 5 days at my sister's house in Inver grove heights.
the weather was bordering on ridiculous and nobody wanted to drive.
I watched a lot of movies. and ate. and slept. ran around one day shopping with mike. Finally got my pal Dave to drive me down to Iowa and we got to catch up.
hung out with my parents for a couple days. spent a couple evenings with Scott and Danny - drinking and listening to satchel and watching Barbarella. went out for bad Chinese with Mark's mom one day and helped her with her digital camera and a door for her new kitty, Sassy? on Christmas eve I watched the Andy Williams Christmas special with my Mom. slept a lot and ate a lot and spent too much time missing my boy.
back in Minneapolis on the 27Th for our family Christmas ( actually the 1st time we could get almost everyone together ). went record shopping with an old friend the next day. failed to meet up with Kyle and several others. Sad, but it's hard to fit veryone in when the family dominates. also, my sister's son had wrapped one of their cars around a telephone pole or something, so they were short a set of wheels for me. had a rough bumpy flight back to Seattle where I received the most amazing and squishy reunion of my life right there in the airport. spent some quality time catching up and then saw Dina Martina Tuesday night with Jeff, Jeni & Michael ( thanks, Jeni! ). my next trip home Will be shorter and more controlled. like I will rent a fucking car, ok? I cannot stand being at any one's mercy or having to rely on anyone, you know?
