Monster In The Closet (1987)

this is a movie from 1987 about a monster that lives in closets and is killing people. Obviously, it's very high brow with a lot of deep themes and existentialist theories. Ok, not really.

"Monster in the closet" is one of Troma's finest films to emerge in the 80's. That being said, Troma means it's not good in the way something nominated for awards is good, but in thew way that I love cheese and schlock and bad effects and low budget everything and bad acting and hilariousness in general. My friends in high school and I rented this one night and got very drunk and there's this noise that the monster makes and we still make that noise to this day.


terrible movie. Amazingly fun. completely classic.

End of Days

today is my last day at the kitchen store. it's empty and sad. they are closing tomorrow for good. as much as I hate it, I will miss it.

And won't it be strange for me to have every weekend off for the first time in 13 years?

Nothing much to report.

Had a company picknic friday eve and then met the crew at manray. home by 11.
Malled all day saturday then to redmond for Consuelo's husband's going away party. watched silly drunk people sing random jimmy buffet, billy idol and the wkrp in cincinnatti theme.

Sunday brunch with Harry, Jim & Lewann and their beautiful baby Nadia at coastal kitchen. re-arranded my apartment and then to the cha cha for chinchilla's and nachos with Bree, Michelle & Jon Auer. then to moe's and then home.

Queen City Cruising

went on this year's queen city cruise yesterday. a 5 hour trip around the seattle lakes on a big boat full of gays and trannys. it's always a blast. made lots of new friends and drank way too much. Will definitely be going next year but with a much larger batch of friends. As usual Mark was the belle of the ball...or should I say whore?

WEEKENDER

Friday night saw Eartha Kitt with Kymono and then went on down to manray where we met Bree and her posse, including the ever lovely Michelle, who was having a birthday. Someone got a little belligerantly wasted and could no longer speak and decided it would be a great idea to hit me. there are is no need to name HER.

Saturday Malled. it was crazy busy because they are having a sale and going out of biz. Then cabbed up to queen anne to meet Kymono and headed down to viceroy for Muhrs birthday party. Viceroy is a strange place. or actually, it was the people there that were strange. VERY Bellevue. Back to the hill. Met gene & Tracy at Pony, then up to bus stop and of course, manray.

Sunday cleaned my apt and went to UM's for some sunshine and red wine. Sunday eve included a mad rush to find an open KFC because Bree and I were cravin' it.

Kitchen Kitchen

the kitchen store I have worked at for the last 6 years is going out of business at the end of august. it will be very strange to have weekends off and to pay full price for kitchen stuff.

Sad times. I shall miss it.

on the brighter side, I may actually enjoy Christmas this year.

Bridge

how freaked out was I over the mpls bridge collapse? It took 'til the next day for me to get in touch will my friends and family there. Crazy. I drive over that bridge every time I'm in Mpls and lived a block from it when I first moved there.

and yeah, everyone has a connection to some horrible event.
